Pep Unveils A Dope Video In Reverse For ‘RWD’
On the track we hear the East London rapper spit about a sticky situation, whilst the visuals play back to front and eventually leads you to piece the whole thing together.
So it was only a couple of days ago that we posted about Pep’s ‘Breakfast Freestyle’ and already he’s back with something new. In the lead up to dropping his upcoming EP, ‘No Stars’, Pep has just unveiled the visuals for his new track, ‘RWD 2’.
But this isn’t just any video. Oh no. In fact, we’re going to put it out there and say that this is one of the coldest visuals we’ve seen so far this year. Pep (formally known as Pepstar, until he recently decided to drop the 'Star' from his name) said that his inspiration from this video came from a Nas track that had a similar concept.
Directed by Pep himself, and shot & edited by Kirk Brissett, the video see’s a story unfold and playback in reverse. On the track we hear the East London rapper spit about a sticky situation, whilst the visuals play back to front and eventually leads you to piece the whole thing together. Such a sick concept executed perfectly, matched up with consistently intricate bars from Pep - this is a winner all round.
With his EP drop just round the corner, and after releasing visuals like this - on a budget of £0 according to his Twitter
Pepstar already has his game set strong for 2016. We’re looking forward to whatever will be coming next…
