Boy George: “Pete’s No Mick Jagger!”

Boy George has commented on the Pete Doherty fiasco, which reached fever pitch this week thanks to his blood-spraying antics (as pictured); stating that everyone has got a bit carried away.

In an exclusive interview with MTV News, the superstar DJ, who is about to embark on community services after being done for drugs possession, said hes not sure what all the fuss is about really. I dont know what hes done, said George of the Babyshambles singer. Whatd be interesting would be if he was like Mick Jagger or someone that has a history, but hes made one record.

It says something about the state of our industry that were so desperate for a rock and roll star and we slag off Kate Moss for being a coke head and slag off Boy George for taking drugs but with Pete Doherty its like Oh please be a rock and roll star! But what has he done?

The Pete Doherty thing, I just dont get it.

Boy George also went on to reveal details of his community service: Theyre not gonna make me pick up litter, he said, Theyre gonna make me tech baseball in Harlem.

But hold on, he added: Thats a joke by the way! No, Im gonna work in a hospice.
