Cops Quiz Doherty Over Death Plunge
Singer interviewed by police following death at agents party
Pete Doherty has been questioned by police following the death of a man at a party he attended in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Actor Mark Blanco died after falling from a third floor balcony at the east London flat of Petes agent, Paul Roundhill, during a riotous party. The cops caught up with Doherty at the Sanderson Hotel where they quizzed him over the events leading up to the death.
The 27-year-old singer was not questioned under caution, and there is no suggestion that he was involved in the actors death in any way.
Cambridge graduate Mark was found lying unconscious in a pool of blood on the pavement outside the flat by a woman as she left the party. He was later pronounced dead at the Royal London hospital in Whitechapel.
The inquest opened yesterday at Poplar Coroners Court, and speaking outside the court, Detective Inspector Mark Dunn told reporters: The injuries that Mr Blanco sustained were consistent with that of a fall. I have a totally open mind about the circumstances of his death.
Mark's family claim that his body was missing an 800 watch and a pair of antique gold cufflinks.
