Doherty: Oasis Are Smurfs
What will the Manchster rockers' response be to Pete's fighting talk?
Pete Doherty has announced Babyshambles' new EP is so good it makes Oasis sound like helium-voiced cartoon characters.
Talking about a track called Sedative on The Blinding EP, Pete told NME, "It's a dangerous tune, a bad tune, a bad, bad tune. Makes Oasis look like The Smurfs."
Yowch! We think the shy, retiring Noel Gallagher might have something to say about that.
Meanwhile 'Shambles drummer Adam Ficek revealed that before the boys played Get Loaded in the Park in Clapham during the summer they were officially in a black hole.
"Before (that) things were very static, there were a lot of problems with drugs, Pete was in and out of rehab. Drew (McConnell, bass) and myself would get together and rehearse the songs Pete had given us, but that was it. It was a dark period," he said.
Thankfully for Pete and the band's sake, Adam says there's been a major turnaround. "There's definitely been a change... Pete really understands now that he has to pull out all the stops on the next album."
Oasis, the gauntlet has been thrown down...
