Pete Doherty Gets Festival Ban
Babyshambles are likely to incite violence say the police

Police have banned Pete Dohertys Babyshambles from playing the Moonfest Festival- causing it to be cancelled. Wiltshire Police believe the band would incite violence so said the event would need a large number of stewards despite having only sold 150 tickets. The event was due to take place August 29-31 and the unprecedented move by cops apparently leaves the organisers on the verge of bankruptcy. Chief Superintendent Julian Kirby bizarrely explained: "What he does as part of his routine is to gee up the crowd. They speed up and then slow down the music and create a whirlpool effect in the crowd. "They [the crowd] all get geed up and then they start fighting."
