Pete Doherty: 'I Want To Do Eurovision'

Babyshambles frontman 'would love to win it for England'...

Pasty-faced rocker Pete Doherty has declared that he would "love" to win the Eurovision Song Contest for England.

In an interview with French magazine L'Officiel, the singer-songwriter revealed: "I was saying to this bird the other night, 'I would love to do Eurovision'.

"She was going, 'Nah, it's really tacky,' but f*** that. I would love to do it and I would love to win it for England. I've got the song.

He added: "F*** it, let's get in the Eurovision. Actually, I would like to enter on behalf of France."

Doherty, who recently described his [uuid=89d3d809-b719-4da6-99ba-b665277a13b9]anguish over the death of Amy Winehouse[/uuid], wasn't letting on which song he had in mind but it could be something we've yet to hear.

The BabyShambles singer also revealed that he has already penned 12 new tracks for a new solo album.

This year's UK Eurovision entry will be sung by crooner Engelbert Humperdinck.
