Pete Doherty Sent To Prison

Doherty is in the slammer for 14 weeks for missing court, skipping rehab and taking drugs...

Pete Doherty was finally sent to prison by a London court today.

The Babyshambles frontman 'did' manage to turn up to at West London Magistrates Court but this time 'didnt' walk away a free man flicking V signs at the paps. Pete was sentenced to 14 weeks in prison by Judge Davinder Lachar for breach of his probation.

A spokesman for the court said Doherty's sentence "breach of time keeping, non-compliance of his order and using different drugs". After spending most of 2007 in and out of court, the 29 year old was given a suspended sentence last October for possession of drugs and driving illegally.

He was ordered to visit court frequently and take part in a rehabilitation program, which he repeatedly missed.

After the singer was led away in cuffs his record label Parlophone was forced to postpone a solo gig at the Royal Albert Hall in London on April 26th, but said it will be rescheduled.

The label said all tickets will be valid for the new date once it has been announced.

Peter was very much looking forward to the show and would like to offer his sincerest apologies to all his fans and all those concerned". But what about Glastonbury? Pete is due to play the festival, headlined by Jay Z, that runs from June 27- 29.

You do the maths.
