Peter Andre and Emily MacDonagh have confirmed their engagement.

The couple - who welcomed their baby daughter earlier this month - made the announcement during an interview with OK! magazine.

Speaking of the moment Andre popped the question, Emily recalled how he got down on two knees in their baby girl's nursery: "It was such a shock. He always said he’d like to do it before the baby was born and I just thought he’d do it after - I was happy, I didn’t need a ring, but it was amazing."

Pete said: "She said: ‘Are you serious?’ and burst into tears – it was so emotional. We lay down in the nursery for ages because it was such a special room to us."

The mag claims that Emily's engagement ring took six weeks to make, with the new mum adding: "It’s so sparkly, I love it!"

Despite revealing their wedding news, the couple are yet to confirm the name of their baby girl - with earlier reports suggesting they had opted for something traditional, like Rebecca.

When asked about her birth, Emily noted: "I’m proud of myself for getting through it. I pulled a lot of Pete’s hair out, but he’s got enough to spare.

"I was so happy she was healthy, it was amazing. I was looking at her perfect form and little fingernails. I kept thinking, how did we make that?"

Pete concluded: "I’d never seen anything like it, I was crying the whole way through the labour. As soon as I saw her I was a mess and crying like a baby. It was such a beautiful experience."
