Pharrell Williams Is More Than 'Happy' With His Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star
The hitmaker was presented with the accolade by Ellen DeGeneres, who made up a hilarious poem in Pharrell's honour...
Pharrell Williams has something else to be 'Happy' about - a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The It Girl singer was joined by Ellen DeGeneres and his family at a ceremony to accept the star on Thursday in Los Angeles (December 4).Posing with wife Helen Lasichanh and son Rocket, Williams praised those around him, stating: "It really feels like a dream. The last two years have been exceptionally surreal for me.
"Besides the support of my wife, which I love, and my family - my mum and my dad and my brothers."
Accepting the honour, The Voice USA coach got all mystical, saying: "The scientists tell us that our galaxy is only one-trillionth of what exists.
"So certainly there are things that are far more bigger and more significant than we could ever be. So today to be considered and acknowledged on this level is a huge thing for me."Despite his huge worldwide success, Pharrell went on to add that he still feels "grounded", explaining: "I'm going to jump up and down on my bed with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with my wife later. But I don't need be grounded with this star to tell you why I'm really grounded.
"I'm really grounded because everyone around me is so much more better than I am. So much more talented than I am. So much more reliable than I am. They're so good, they levitate."
And in typical Ellen fashion, the chat show host was on hand to make a poem out of his name in her presentation speech.
"P is for pretty. You're very, very pretty. H is for happy. But not the song, because I just got that out of my head. So but it is for happy," she said.
"A is for astronomy, because you are a star. You're getting a star. And I got a star before you. But that doesn't matter."
We think you're a star too Pharrell!
