Thousands of fans braved the sweltering heat in Londons Leicester Square to catch a glimpse of the films stars Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp, all of whom rocked the red carpet.
Security staff had to throw cold water of giddy fans to stop them passing out.
Speaking to MTV News before taking to his seat, Johnny Depp revealed how much he loves dressing up. I think probably years before I even played a pirate I might have dabbled in the lifestyle a little bit, said Depp.
I still dress up as a pirate and play I just get paid for it now! When I was a kid I was in love with the idea of pirates. I suppose it's that idea of freedom, that degree of freedom.
