Pitch Perfect 3 is about to sign up a brand new recruit for the Barden Bellas, with Orange Is The New Black star Ruby Rose apparently in talks to join the new film. Aca-awesome, right?

A couple months back, the star posted a picture with director Elizabeth Banks on her Insta feed, accompanied by the cryptic message, “what are we up to?”Although Banks has since dropped out of the project, it looks as though the two were discussing Pitch Perfect after all…

Fortunately, Trish Sie has now stepped in to direct (she did a couple of those amazing music videos for OK GO), so things seem to be moving forward again. Nobody knows too much about the plot at this stage, but all the regulars are set to return including Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow and Alexis Knapp, as well as Pitch Perfect 2 addition Hailee Steinfeld.

With the last film going on to become the highest-grossing musical comedy of all time, there’s a fair bit of pressure on Sie and co. to deliver. We’ll find out how they get on when the movie hits our screens on 22 December 2017.
