New Best Selfie Ever? Starring Pixie Lott, Joan Collins And Sir Ben Kingsley
Prince Charles opted out of the camera phone pic...
Writer Joan Collins has tried to re-create Ellen Degeneres’ famous Oscars selfie featuring some of the UK’s best known faces.
Cramming in next to Joan is Pixie Lott, while the top of X Factor winner Sam Bailey’s head can just be seen next to her. On the other side, Sir Ben Kingsley – who starred in Iron Man 3 – leans in and behind him we also spotted Vernon Kay and Jeremy Irons, who will play Alfred in the upcoming Batman vs Superman film.
And, like Ellen, who wrote in her tweet “If only Bradley’s arm was longer”, Joan probably wished her arms were longer so she could capture even more of the famous faces around her.
Those who also tried to squeeze in but didn’t quite make it were Vernon’s wife Tess Daly, MTV UK’s very own Laura Whitmore and Philip Schofield.
Sadly Joan’s pic – which she captioned “Selfie support” – has only been retweeted 366 times, a fraction of the number Ellen’s selfie got, which featured Hollywood royalty Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Lupita Nyong’o, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper himself.
Perhaps Joan's might have got a few more retweets if it featured British royalty but unfortunately Prince Charles, who had joined the celebs at an event for his charity The Prince's Trust, declined to take part.
The famous Oscars selfie has been retweeted over 3 million times and been copied by everyone from the cast of Made In Chelsea to The Simpsons.
