Pixie Lott: "I Would Never Go To Extremes"
Sweet singer says she doesn't feel pressure to strip off...
Pixie Lotthas spoken out about the pressure for female artists to take their clothes off, saying she would never “go to extremes”.
“I’ve never felt pressured to dress a certain way,” said the singer.
When asked what she thought of her fellow artists – including Miley Cyrus, Rihanna and even Ellie Goulding – stripping down, the petite blonde replied: “I think each to their own, fair enough. Maybe Ellie was experimenting with fashion.”
Talking to You Magazine journalist Liz Jones (who is currently locked in the Celebrity Big Brother house), Pixie did admit, however: “I’ve definitely done videos that are more raunchy than others just because of what the song is about.”
Pixie also revealed that “wrote the treatment” for the video to her first single, Mama Do, which features her wearing something “nasty”.
“I start out prim and proper, innocent and well-dressed, and then I see this guy and the clothes are transformed into something a bit more nasty,” she explained. “It was a cool video to shoot.”
Having taken a break from the limelight to write her third album, the What Do You Take Me For singer said she’s not worried about being forgotten. “I feel if you have a voice, like Lily Allen or Joss Stone, you can come back at any time.”
Although she does have a back-up plan, which is to design her own clothing range. “I would love to do a collaboration that’s purely me. I think if I had to do it now the clothes would have a ‘60s vibe. But it takes time because you have to do the sketches. Music comes first.”
