PS4 Pro Upgrade Makes One Of Our Fave Games Look Totally Different
The PS4 Pro is nearly here - and it's bringing a ton of new games.
Sony’s PS4 Pro is nearly here, with its release coming on 10 November… and with that will come a bunch of new games, as well as a heap of upgrades for some already on PS4.
One of these is for Infamous Second Son & First Light which have just been detailed by a developer.
Jason Connell wrote in a PlayStation Blog post just how the extra power of the PS4 Pro is set to make this game even better. For a start, it will mean a 4K resolution and full-on HDR gaming for better colours and a greater contrast of light and dark, which makes for way more realistic lighting.
But these upgrades aren’t all reserved for PS4 Pro owners only, as HDR will also work on PS4 units connected to an HDR capable TV - but the 4K resolution will only work with the Pro.
Connell wrote: "This patch, along with an HDR capable TV, pushes those crazy bright values even further. Yes, that means looking at the sun or sky in our game feels extremely bright, providing a level of contrast I've never seen in our game before. The vibrancy of the sky and lighting creates some really striking and beautiful moments.”
The extra resolution of 4K UHD on the PS4 Pro version means elements look even more crisp, says Connell. Since there are a lot of of wet textures throughout Infamous, these details should see a big change.
The special powers should also look better than ever now too. “When Fetch does a ground pound, waves of brilliantly flickering particles erupt in all directions. We even improved photo-mode to let you pause on powers. My favorite is winding up Fetch's ultimate neon bomb and then quickly activating photo mode to pause and observe the thousands of emissive particles bits forming around her,” says Connell.
Infamous Second Son and First Light have already been patched to support PS4 Pro ready for its release on 10 November.
