Multiplayer Battles Are FINALLY Coming To Pokémon Go! Here's Everything New That's Coming For Rest Of The Year
Here's what's happening in Pokémon Go right now… and what's coming by the end of 2018.
Competitive battles are coming to Pokémon Go by the end of the year.
Talking to Polish publication Gram (via Eurogamer), Niantic's Anne Beuttenmüller said the Pokemon developer considered that multiplayer modes (or PvP, as it's sometimes referred to) was "the next thing that [Niantic] want[ed] to add" and they were already "working on the PvP mode".
Beuttenmüller also added the article confirmed that the new mode should be with us "at the end of this year".
It's thought the new feature will build upon trading - which is another new feature only recently introduced to the game - and allow you to sort your friends lists by different criteria, too.
If you're looking for a Pokémon Go hit but can't wait until the end of the year, don't forget that from now until August 19, 2018, you'll be able to enjoy special bonuses. All trades - including special trades - cost 25 percent less Stardust, and applies to all your friends, even new ones you add while the offer is available. There's bonus Candy to grab, too - you can net up to six Candies, plus triple XP when you gain a new entry!
If you're still building your Pokédex in Pokémon Go, don't forget about this cheeky hack to grab more super rare Pokemon, too.
