Pokemon GO's New Valentine's Event Will Make You Fall In Love With The App Again
Most adorable Valentine's gift evs!
It’s time to get all loved up with your fave Pokémon as a new Valentine event has rolled out in super-smash mobile hit, Pokémon GO.
From now until 7pm GMT next Friday, February 15, 2017, all players will receive double the amount of candy when “catching, hatching, and transferring” Pokémon, plus Buddy Pokémon will find Candy twice as quickly for their trainers.
And that’s not all. “Throughout the celebration, you’ll notice that Chansey, Clefable, and many other adorable pink Pokémon will be encountered more frequently in the wild,” states the Pokemon GO team in a recent blog update.
“Cleffa, Igglybuff, and Smoochum will also be more likely to hatch from Eggs. And to help you paint your town pink this Valentine’s Day, Lure Modules will last for six hours for the entire duration of the event.”
Yes, you read that right - six hours! As lures usually last only 30 minutes, you get a bonus five and a half hour to hang out and hunt down new Pokémon, as well as those bonus chances of capturing super cute pink Pokémon like Porygon.
This is Pokemon GO’s first in-game event and as it’s available globally, no matter where you are in the world you can get still involved!
If you wandered into a Pokemon GO when the game was released and haven’t gone back because you got your ass kicked (yup, it happened to me, too), you should think about trying again - Pokémon Go gyms have become a whole lot friendlier!
