A Girl Found A Dead Body In Her Town While Playing Pokemon Go
'It was pretty shocking. I didn't really know what to do at first'
A 19-year-old girl had a harrowing experience while playing mobile game Pokémon Go recently, a game that’s proved a huge success since launching this week.
Pokémon Go, if you didn’t know, is an augmented reality game, in which users have to travel around their towns to try and find as many Pokémon as they can.
However, for Shayla Wiggins, the game took a nasty turn when she tried to ‘get a Pokémon from a natural water resource’ in Riverton, Wyoming, jumping over a fence to go towards the Wind River.
Recalling what happened to County 10, she explained: “I was walking towards the bridge along the shore when I saw something in the water. I had to take a second look and I realized it was a body.”
Shayla said she found the male body floating around three foot from the shore, saying: “It was pretty shocking. I didn't really know what to do at first. But I called 911 right away and they came really quickly.”
Authorities took Shayla to where she found the body, before detectives told her they thought it had been there for less that 24 hours.
She added: “I was pretty scared and cried for a while.”
The Fremont Count Sheriff’s Office have said: “The death appears to be accidental in nature and possibly that of a drowning. There is no evidence at this time that would indicate foul play.”
