Detective Pikachu FINALLY Has A Release Date: Watch The Bonkers New Trailer Now

Detective Pikachu is coming to Nintendo 3DS on March 23, 2018.

The Pokémon Company describes the game as an action-adventure title in which Pikachu partners up with Tim Goodman to search for evidence and clues to solve a series of cases, whilst also investigating the disappearance of Tim’s father, Harry Goodman.

"When he arrives in Ryme City looking for his missing father, little does Tim know he would meet a Pikachu, but more amazingly a Pikachu who he could communicate with," says The Pokémon Company. "There’s more to this Pikachu than a detective hat – he’s one lovably gruff, tough-talking sleuth, with a taste for good coffee."

This release will include all the chapters of the 2016 Japan-exclusive of the game, but also includes new locations and extra content that "completes the story". There's also a hint mode to help if you get stuck, and a new easy mode for those of you playing detective games for the first time.

Expect to see a bonus-sized Detective Pikachu amiibo when the game launches, which will also allow you to see all the Pika Prompts (which are short videos) from all your completed chapters, including any you might have missed.
