LEAK: Pokémon GO To Get 100 New Pokémon This Week
Here are all the details.
Thursday could be a very exciting day to Pokémon Go players if a leak from Starbucks is accurate.
According to a document leaked from the coffee chain we can expect a big Pokémon Go event on Thursday 8 December where 100 new Pokémon are added to the game.
The leaked document, shared via Reddit, was intended for Starbucks employees as a way of explaining how the special event will go down on Thursday. This should be when many Starbucks shops are added to the game as either gyms or PokéStop locations.
The 100 new Pokémon are from the Gold and Silver selection. These were previously leaked as incoming when a coder dug down into the game’s core code to find them lurking as a possible future launch.
The catch? This Starbucks promotion appears to be aimed at the US only, initially at least. This could mean the extra Pokémon Go will be US only too. Although it says it’s part of a large update so hopefully everyone gets the new characters.
US gamers will be able to buy a special Pokémon Go Frappucino “evolved with raspberry syrup and blackberries” drink in Starbucks on that day.
This will be unlocked once the Starbucks gym or PokéStop is located. Staff are told to “encourage” gamers to buy the drink but it doesn’t sound like you’ll be booted for playing without buying.
Check back later in the week for the full official details.
