How To Catch Ditto In Pokémon Go
Ditto's tough to catch - here's how you do it.
Ditto the shape-shifting Pokémon has finally arrived on Pokémon Go after plenty of rumours leaked about the new addition. Now you can catch it. Well, you can try.
As you’d imagine from a shape-shifting Pokémon, Ditto is tough to catch. Since it takes the form of other Pokémon you’ll never know which is Ditto until it’s been caught. Only then will the transformation video be shown to let you know what you’ve REALLY got in your Pokéball.
That means the only way to catch Ditto is to keep trying and hope, at random, you nab one.
Ditto should be super helpful in Gym battles as it will match the type, moves and appearance of the first Pokémon it sees.
So how do you catch Ditto?
According to lots of reports from those that have already nabbed one it looks like the theme is common Pokémon. So go for Rattata, Pidgey, Zubat and Magikarp and you could get lucky.
All the usual techniques work too like going near to a gym or place that spawns lots of Pokémon. Also using incense and lures can work too. So, essentially, keep doing what you’re doing.
Bare in mind Ditto is the same for everyone. So if you discover one, let everyone know that that particular Magikarp, or whatever it was is actually a Ditto and they can catch it too.
