Pokémon Go Is Now On The Apple Watch, Here's How It's Different
There's just one key thing it can't do...
If you’ve got an Apple Watch, you’re about to get a whole new way to enjoy Pokémon Go right on your wrist!
By using the smartwatch to play the game your phone can stay in your pocket, saving you battery so you can play even longer when out and about.
So what can the Watch app do? Now you’ll be able to log each session as a workout so all those precious steps count towards your daily fitness goals. On top of that you can look at distances to show you how close you are to hatching Eggs and receiving Candy with your buddy Pokémon.
Notifications also play a big part in the wrist-based experience. You’ll be notified when PokéStops are nearby and you’ll even be able to collect items from them right there within the Watch. You’ll also be notified about nearby Pokémon and get notifications when Eggs hatch and medals are awarded.
The only thing you can’t do is catch Pokémon. You’ll still need to dig your phone out to catch ‘em all, but it should have plenty more battery so you can catch even more every time you’re out.
The Pokémon Go Apple Watch update is available now so go check it out and enjoy phone-free gaming at last.
