Pokemon Go Players Mob Dude’s House And Holocaust Museum

Pokémon Go players have been turning up en masse for days.

Will the ridiculous Pokémon Go stories of real-world experiences never stop? We hope not. The latest involves a random dude’s house and an unfunny holocaust museum incident.

The first involves a guy called Boon Sheridan who has had Pokémon Go players turning up at his house en masse for days. The second is a Holocaust Museum where a similar Pokémon hunt has happened.

It turns out the developers, Niantic Labs, setup Pokémon gym and Pokéstops right where these two locations are.

Poor old Boon lives in a house that used to be a church, hence it being picked as a gym. He complained that his house has begun to look like a dealer’s place now, but all in jest. Really he’s embracing it saying: "I've been talking with a few smartypants people, and we may try a little API magic to see if we can pull off the 'Change the colour of lights to match the gym colour,' but it’s early days”.

The Holocaust Museum in Washington DC, which is a Pokéstop in the game, isn’t taking it so lightly. It had reached out to the game’s developers but was told that only areas that present immediate danger, like train tracks, are being considered for changes.

One worrying image doing the rounds online shows the poison gas-spewing creature, Koffing, inside the Holocaust Museum, near the Helena Rubinstein Auditorium. This theater plays the stories of Jews who survived gas chambers.

Perhaps Niantic should reconsider its rules for that one then.
