Pokemon Go's New Tracking System CHANGES EVERYTHING - Do You Have It?
Pokémon Go fans may have been upset when Pokémon tracking platforms like Pokévision were shut down and their ability to see nearby Pokémon distances was also scrapped. But the game’s creators, Niantic, are back with an update to help.
The latest patch update, v1.30, won’t offer the level of accuracy that dedicated third party sites offered before they were ditched, but it’s a step in the right direction. The catch? At the moment not everyone has these updates.
The new feature is built around Pokéstops. It will now show you which Pokémon is closest to which stop. So by tapping Pokéstops within view, even if they’re too far away to spin and harvest, you’ll be shown the Pokémon nearest to that point. It’s not super accurate but it’s better than the the aimless wandering that the game has everyone doing right now.
The feature that shows general Pokémon nearby remains and is now called “Sightings”.
Other extras on this update include the return of the battery saver option for iPhone as well as fixes for points bonuses while catching Pokémon and the ability to change your trainer name one time only.
