In the aftermath of thefinal ever episodeof Pretty Little Liars, fans are still lettingthe revelation ofA.D.'s identity sink in, but it turns out the show's executive producer actually spilled the beans on the EXACT plot they ended up going witha whole three years ago.

In a 2014 interview with The Wrap I.Marlene King said:"Troian [Bellisario] sent me a theory the other day that I thought was amazing, and it was so well thought out."

The showrunner went on to describe the precise storylinethatwould come to fruitionthree years later:"It was that Spencer has a twin, and that person is A. When I read through all of the information the person delved out, I thought 'Oh my gosh, this is a really well thought out plan, and it's kind of a good one.' "

Honestly we wish we had been paying more attention, that's three years of living in the unknown that we could have saved ourselves. Troian evenconfirmed that I.Marlene first spoke to her about the storyline when they started filming season 5, which premiered in March 2014.

Now that the cat is well and trulyout of the bag, it seems missed cluesare crawling out of the woodwork from all angles, Troian's Twitter bio literally states: "Sometimes, I play this chick, Spencer Hastings, on this showPretty Little Liars. But only sometimes."
