Pretty Little Liars Recap: 10 Things That Made Our Heads Explode In ‘The Gloves Are On’
SO. MUCH. HAPPENED.
After an unusually calm episode of Pretty Little Liars last week, The Gloves Are On gave us actual heart palpitations - and we loved every single ridiculous second of it.
Besides the actual mystery surrounding Charlotte DiLaurentis' death, there was so much drama going on that we kept having to pause the ep in order to keep up with it all.
But amongst all the crazy, these were the bits that made this week's PLL ICONIC.
Pam Fields finding out Emily dropped out of college
We know it was actually really sad, but “did you get this at a costume shop?” is the most important line of dialogue anyone has ever uttered.
Emily’s reaction to Aria reading Ezra’s book out loud like a jerk
After reciting some A+++ douchery, Aria asks Em: “Is it just me, or is this amazing?”
Emily responds with a blank stare. We are ALL that blank stare.
The writers low key going after Ezra like they know they should
Besides dissing his life’s work, Emily deals the ultimate burn when discussing Ezra’s relationship with Aria.
Em straight up asks if this book is about Aria, because she thinks she matches the girl he describes.
Aria’s response: “Ezra likes small women. Get a grip!” HMMMMM.
She tries to shrug their whole affair off, saying, “it was high school”, to which Em responds: “Not to him”. Literally cannot.
The return of Melissa Hastings
It’s almost understandable that Melissa got a criminal lack of airtime during her triumphant return, but that doesn’t mean she still didn’t bring it.
Because she has eyes, Melissa asks Spencer what the deal with her and Caleb is, and when Spence gets all defensive, she tells her: "I know how you like to shop out of other people's carts.”
Still not bitter at all, we guess.
Sara Harvey’s hand mystery finally being solved
Naturally, it was due to Sara accidentally touching live wires on a bomb that was meant to blow up Radley and all of the Liars.
Ali’s stone cold reaction telling the others not to touch her is finally a glimpse at an Ali we can get on board with.
Lucas ruining Hanna’s alibi by uttering the phrase ‘ice water’
WHY DIDN’T YOU JUST SAY WATER? WHAT WERE THEY TEACHING YOU AT GAME APP COLLEGE OF YOURS?
The fact that Hanna wore a set of kimono style pyjamas for half the episode
WTAF. This is by far the most ridiculous things one of the Liars has ever worn, and that includes Aria.
She should get fired from her fashion job for this alone.
Ezra finally losing it, completely and absolutely
We all knew this was coming thanks to the promo, and it was so important to us we literally had to ask Ashley Benson and Shay Mitchell about it.
It is an iconic piece of television.
Spaleb setting sail
If the PLL writers were going to go there with Spaleb, they know they needed to go hard. And they did.
Honestly, we thought our computer was going to catch fire a la Sara Harvey’s hands when these two started getting it on.
We are unashamedly on board with this.
And of course, the first new 'A' text finally made an appearance
About damn time. As well as getting their own emoji, this new Big Bad is even sassy enough to ditch the black hoodies.
Brb, just Googling 'UNIFORMS'...
