Pretty Little Liars Showrunner Confirms Season 7 Will Be ‘The End Of PLL As We Know It’

But there’s still no official word on whether PLL could carry on after this season.

The rumour that Pretty Little Liars will come to an end after its seventh season has been floating around for absolutely ages.

But while it looks like we’ll be waiting on a proper confirmation from the TV bigwigs for now – they HAVE revealed that this next season will be ‘the end of PLL as we know it’.

According to HollywoodLife, Freeform released a response to the rumours that Pretty Little Liars will be wrapped up in this seventh season.

And even though they didn’t totally crush our dreams, they’ve also made us panic over exactly what’s going to go down when the show returns next week.

The network reportedly told the site: “This is the end of PLL as we know it. This will be a very suspenseful season with reveals nearly each week, like nothing we’ve seen before.

“There has been no official decision made for PLL beyond a season 7.”

WE DON’T UNDERSTAND.

Considering that this statement was triggered by Troian Bellisario’s fiancé Patrick J Adams revealing how excited he is that ‘the show is coming to an end this year’, this could mean a few things.

Either Troian hasn’t quite broken the news to Patrick that their wedding’s going to have to wait a little longer or… there could be a spin off coming.

Sure, we might have to say goodbye to our favourite OG Liars, but hey, if it means we still get some ridiculous A shenanigans that take us all the way back to high school again, we’ll definitely take it.

Either way, showrunner Marlene King retweeted this ‘end of PLL as we know it’ news, so we guess we’re in for a bumpy ol’ ride.
