Prince Puts On Intimate Secret Show In North London
Legendary singer and his all-female group 3RDEYEGIRL took over Camden's Electric Ballroom last night...
Prince was back in action last night (Tuesday, February 4) playing a secret gig in Camden, North London.
After previously announcing he would be performing at a series of "iconic venues" across the capital, the Purple Rain singer took to the stage at the Electric Ballroom following a press conference at pal, Lianne La Havas' flat.
News of Prince's gig was broken by his manager Kiran Sharma, with crowds soon building outside the venue.
The event was the first of its kind, with Prince welcoming press and invited guests only to his 'open soundcheck'.
The legend performed alongside his female group 3RDEYEGIRL, with their set including tracks from their forthcoming album Plectrum Electrum, as well as a cover of Play That Funky Music and I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man.
Mumford & Sons were spotted watching Prince, as well as banjo player Winston Marshall.
Prince and 3RDEYEGIRL touched down in London on yesterday to play a handful of intimate gigs to promote their new LP, with the 55-year old previously saying: "We'll work our way up, if people like us, to bigger venues."
Details of his next gig are yet to be confirmed…
