Professor Green Steps Up To Host UK Version Of Lip Sync Battle

Rapper will be joining Mel B on new Channel 5 show...

The British version of the TV series Lip Sync Battle has found itself the perfect host in the form of rapper Professor Green.

The 32-year-old Londoner will be taking the role made famous by LL Cool J in the massively successful US series - while former Spice Girl Mel B will be his equally fierce co-host.

In case you haven't seen it, the show is a spin-off from a popular slot on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and features celebs miming to rap, pop and rock hits in a live studio setting.

Highlights of the US series have included Justin Bieber slaying Ozzy Osbourne's Crazy Train and Dwayne Johnson owning Taylor Swift's Shake It Off.

Talking about his new TV gig, Pro said: "When the chance to work with Mel B came up the answer was obviously a yes. I'm working with a f**king Spice Girl!"

"The fact I'd be her co-host on Lip Sync Battle was also exciting. Jokes aside, I'm very excited about filming the first series - having spent a good while on YouTube watching the US show I'm looking forward to seeing what our guests bring to the table!"

Married to former Made In Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh, Pro Green (real name Stephen Manderson) has been diversifying his portfolio in recent months.

As well as landing the high-profile TV job, he also spent a number of weeks in the Sunday Times Best Sellers list with his autobiography Lucky.

'The UK version of Lip Sync Battle will hitChannel 5 in January 2016.'
