The rockers talk to MTV2 about their new record and those Sheffield monkeys

Josh Homme says hes happy that the Arctic Monkeys have been influenced by the Queens Of The Stone Age.

He told MTV2: "We didnt realise (that we influenced them) but we like the record and we like the guys. Its good for us."

The four-piece behind Brianstorm have been open in stating QOTSA inspired them to beef up their guitars and drums on second album Favourite Worst Nightmare.

In the interview with Zane Lowe, to be broadcast on Gonzo in June, Josh was also asked about influencing The Fray but was less complimentary about the Denver group. He said: The Fray?... Fraid not.

Queens of the Stone Ages new album Era Vulgaris will also be released this summer and features the vocals of Strokes man Julian Casablancas.

Nine Inch Nails singer Trent Reznor also worked with the group on the album. However the song has not made the LP and Josh explained: The thing is we will leak the song onto the interweb ourselves.
