Rachel McAdams For True Detective Season Two?
Hollywood star reportedly in talks to step into Matthew McConnaughey's shoes...
Rachel McAdams is reported to be in the frame for the lead role in the second season of HBO's True Detective.
The existential noir thriller was a critical and popular hit with a first series which starred Matthew McConnaughey and Woody Harrelson - and numerous well-known stars are apparently keen to climb on board for the follow-up.
Elisabeth Moss, who plays Peggy in Mad Men, is reported by Variety to be competing with McAdams for the role of a gambling and booze-addicted sheriff in California.
And Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch and Vince Vaughn are all reported to be in the running for roles in the new series two, with Fast & Furious 6 director Justin Lin apparently in talks to direct.
Variety says that season two "is said to revolve around the investigation of a corrupt city manager who gets murdered amidst a potential groundbreaking transportation deal".
