Rachel McAdams Says Regina George From 'Mean Girls' Still Haunts Her

Regina George didn't just haunt her high school peers.

Rachel McAdams has a pretty impressive repertoire when it comes to the characters she's played, but one of the first ones that springs to mindis undoubtedly Regina George from Mean Girls.

Don’t get us wrong, she’s also pretty well known for getting caught up in the world of time travel as well as being a bird with Ryan Gosling in the Notebook, but Regina is just so iconic she’s literally impossible to forget.

Take a look at the video to see Saoirse Ronan reveal all about her and Timothee Chalamet's awkward Lady Bird sex scene...

And it seems the queen b didn't just haunt her slightly less popular high school peers: "Does Regina George haunt me every day? She does have that quality," Rachel told the New York Times, but she wouldn't have it any other way.

She added: "I have to thank Regina George for giving me some longevity. I’m forever grateful to Tina Fey and Mark Waters. I remember when I read [the script forMean Girls], I called my agent right away and said, 'I will play any part in this, please, please, please.' I was at the beginning of my career, and it was a lofty thing out there, that I really, really, really wanted to do. I’m always looking for larger-than-life characters, which is probably why I like playing villains. They get away with so much."

Regina, ahem, Rachel is no stranger to playing the leading lady, but she sometimes enjoys taking a bit of a backseat in supporting roles too.

She said: "I certainly don’t mind playing supporting roles at all...I would be a basket case if I always played the lead role. Sometimes it’s nice to put the same amount of work into a character that has less screen time. You can dig into them but you also get to nap in your trailer for half the day, too."

Prioritising naps? Now that's something we have a lot of respect for.

Long-live Regina George!
