Reading & Leeds Announce First 2016 Headliners & It's HOT

The first wave of acts for the 2016Reading & Leeds Festival have been announced and, in a festival exclusive, Red Hot Chili Peppers are the first confirmed headliners, returning to the festival nine years since their last appearance there.

Also revealed today for the three day festival over the 26th-28th August bank holiday weekendwere The 1975, Courteeners, twenty one pilots, Slaves, Crossfaith, Boy Better Know,HINDS, DJ EZand MTV Brand New For 2016 nominee Rat Boy.

“It's always a pleasure to play at Reading and Leeds and it's an honour to be invited back to play again in 2016," Slaves commented."The crowds have been good to us and we are always very grateful. The line up is always a gooden and we're looking forward to being part of it and taking things up another level this time. See you there xxx", while Rat Boy added:"It’s gonna be lit!”

Last year's Reading & Leeds saw The Libertines, Mumford & Sons and Metallica headline with other acts including Kendrick Lamar, atl-J, Royal Blood and Bring Me The Horizon. Expect more major additions to this year's line-up in the coming months. Bring it on!
