Reading & Leeds Festivals Kick Off

At the southern leg of the event the site is very muddy after heavy rainfall in the past few days.

 

Organisers have even called in the Environment Agency to pump water away from the fields in a bid to make the site less wet.

 

The weather is expected to improve over the weekend for both sets of festival-goers.

 

Tonight Guns N Roses will top the bill at Reading while Arcade Fire and The Libertines are joint headliners at Leeds.

 

Pete Doherty and Carl Barat’s band played two gigs in London this week to warm up for the event.

 

Also on the bill over the three days are LCD Soundsystem, Paramore, Queens Of The Stone Age, Dizzee Rascal, Klaxons and Pendulum.
