Whether you like a short and sweet li’l peckon the cheek, or if you’re more of a super duper mega, swoop down and snog kinda person, everyone’s idea of the perfect display of affection is gonna be slightlydifferent.

But according to a new Valentine's Day related study, the ideal length of a kiss has been discovered (OH FINALLY), and is it just us that thinks it sounds like kind of a long time?

12 seconds. 12 seconds of being locked into another human being by the lips is apparently what makes for the perfect kiss, if you were wondering.

It’s all been decided by a live experiment conducted by Virgin Atlantic on Facebook. Sharinga video of a woman and a man kissing at the airport, they asked participants to send in a shocked face emoji at the exact moment that they thought was the ideal time to end the kiss.

Turns out that’s 12 seconds, accoring to the majority. Interesting.

It’s not exactly scientific, but the video did rack up over 36,000 views and a total of 628 voters in the experiment, so it’s pretty safe to say that a lot of people enjoylong, maximum levels of smooch.

Alternatively, you could just stick to a quick one and then leave yourself with ten more valuable seconds to spend talking, singing or eating. Kinda depends on your priorities.
