Biffy Clyro On X Factor Winner's Single: "It Didn't Seem Like A Terrible Idea"
Watch an exclusive, unseen clip from Soundchain here...
In an exclusive, unseen Soundchain interview Biffy Clyro have chatted to Zane Lowe about the early days of the band - "we pissed off a lot of neighbours", the irony of Many Of Horrors being used as a wedding song - "it's the anti-wedding song!" and the success it garnered after being covered by Matt Cardle for The X Factor winner's single When We Collide...
"At the time it was so ridiculous that it didn't seem like a terrible idea," Simon said at London's Village Underground, "and then suddenly the fans find out and people are going 'oh my god what are you doing?'
"And at that point that was when we thought about it. We didn't really think about it until there was a reaction because we just thought 'that's so weird' it was just like 'this is hilarious, our song is gonna be a Christmas No.1 isn't that funny?! Yes, that's funny, let's do it.'"
Biffy's Soundchain ranged from Nirvana, Rage Against The Machine to Fleetwood Mac and Garth Richardson. As is customary, we like to keep the Soundchain moving and looking to the future, and this week's track is from British band Lonely The Brave who've been tipped from everyone from Zane to NME to Kerrang! to acheive great things. This is Victory Line...
Coming up on Soundchain, Jake Bugg and Queens Of The Stone Age.
