April

Two of the years biggest tracks made the number 1 spot in Easter month. Timbaland, Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado hit the top with their scorching Give It To Me single which dissed their critics and made us dance.

Later in April Shakira and Beyonce teamed up for top tune Beautiful Liar which stayed at number 1 for quite a few weeks. Elsewhere Amelle from the Sugababes was sensationally arrested after allegedly assaulting someone in a bar.

And Calvin Harris denied that he was getting romantic with Kylie. He also gave us a world exclusive about her new album: Our song sounds like 500 men with their tops off dancing. Its dirty, its sweaty and a bit wrong.

May

Early in May we were at the announcement of Princes London residency. Genuinely excited music journalists flocked to see the star reveal his huge shows and says a few words. He told us hes an Amy Winehouse fan and said hed keep tiocket process low so everyone could see him. What a legend!

Cheryl Cole of Girls Aloud and Lily Allen had a ward of words through May despite the LDN singer writing a fairly complimentary song about her. After Cole branded Lily a Chick with a dick (Nice) she hit back: At least I write and sing my own songs without the aid of autotune. I must say taking your clothes off, doing sexy dancing and marrying a rich footballer must be very gratifying, your mother must be so proud, stupid bitch!

June

We revealed My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way was engaged, which caused a sh*tload of emo teenagers to log on to mtv.co.uk. We also spoke to Kaiser Chiefs who revealed its them who persuaded Mel C to join the Spice Girls reunion. Thanks guys.

Paris Hilton went to jail in June because of driving convictions and told MTV: Im scared but Im being strong. A shambolic sentence ensued as she was released after three days inside and then re-prisoned later. Those crazy yanks!

Festival season started with Wireless in Hyde Park as Daft Punk and The White Stripes rocked London. Later in the month Glastonbury was chaos as yet again it poured and the site flooded. It was not fun- trust us.

Oh and Rihanna also had a minor hit with this song called Umbrella. You may have heard it or seen the video once or twice.
