Rihanna is “in shock” at Chris Brown’s online video apology, say reports.
According to a friend of the singer, Brown’s decision to publicly grovel for forgiveness for assaulting her in February was selfish and hurtful."She's in total shock,” the friend tells Now magazine.
“It was like he gave her another blow, albeit one of a different kind.
"All she knows is that it's in the news again and that's the one thing she didn't want. She's been trying to put it behind her and move on as fast as possible."
They added: "They spoke earlier last week and Chris made no mention of any public statement then.
"She wishes he'd given her at least a heads-up about it. But that's Chris, always thinking of himself first and forgetting how this would impact on her."
Another unnamed source questions the timing of the video: "In the video he says he's apologised to Rihanna privately many times and that's true,” says the source.
"So we're questioning what this video is really for. It's clearly something he's done for his public image. It's convenient that he's waited until his new album's coming out."
