Rihanna Shows Off New 'Pretty' Hand Tattoo

Star flew her NYC ink artists 1,500 miles to work on her traditional Maori design...

Rihanna has added to the [uuid=7b52e929-5216-4b1c-a942-10032f12aa6c]tribal hand tattoo design[/uuid] she got in New Zealand, reportedly flying her US ink artist 1,5000 miles to finish the job.

As we previously reported, the Bajan babe opted for a traditional Maori design last month, with the painful process involving a chisel and a mallet to create the tatt.

According to Page Six, RiRi flew Bang Bang Tattoo artists Keith McCurdy and Cally Jo from New York to the Dominican Republic to complete the design, which took 11 hours.

McCurdy told the publication: "We designed something that plays over the knuckles and wrist, and just tried to incorporate it with what was done before.

"We blended what used to be there into a more decorative pattern. We tried to make it look like jewellery, a bit like a henna tattoo.'

He added that the Diamonds hitmaker was "bruised" after the session on Sunday (October 27), but added that she was "fine".

Keith also added to E!: "We drew on her hand from 7 pm to midnight. We were drawing and changing things. I'd take a break and Cally Jo would draw, then I'd draw...

"The inspiration was henna art, we wanted something really decorative, feminine and sexy. We thought that was the closest in style where we could shift and make it look decorative."

He continued: "She had something pre-existing on her hand. So it was a little bit of a cover up, but also making it look good, wanted to make sure it flowed. We needed to work with what she already had.

"[It was] difficult, because the stuff she already had was a pattern on skin. We were trying to fit the body with what she already had. Mend the two styles with a new style."

When asked what RiRi thought of her new ink, the artist added that she "flipped out!" and "absolutely loved it".

The pair have since uploaded a snap of the 25-year old's inked hand on Instagram, accompanying it with the caption: "Before and after on @badgalriri ....@callyjoart and I spent hours and hours drawing on different designs, we finally found one that worked! So proud we made it pretty."

Rihanna was later snapped showing off her new tatt during her Puerto Rico concert on Monday (October 28).
