Rihanna Songwriter Talks Those 'BBHMM' Plagiarism Claims

RiRi's latest single is said to be a copy of Just Brittany's ‘Betta Have My Money’ and writer Bibi Bourelly isn't happy about it...

Rihanna’s songwriter has addressed claims that new single ‘B*tch Better Have My Money’ is a copy of Just Brittany’s song ‘Betta Have My Money’

Following its premiere, many drew comparisons between'BBHMM' and Brittany’s original track, with the Houston rapper accusing RiRi of ‘jacking’ her tune.

[related]During an interview with Vibe, Bibi Bourelly - who penned the Bajan babe’s song - expressed her disappointment over the plagiarism claims.

She stated: “It's like you dedicate [your] entire life to something, you know?

"You fight for something and actually put the work in, and sacrifice time, like your parents told you to do in order to be 'successful', just so when you finally reach a victory and it's time to celebrate, some obstacle is there to pull you back down again.”

She continued: “But that's life, I guess. I don't want to bash anybody or be bitter or mean. I just want to be able to celebrate our victory.

"A lot of things change when one is granted success, random people pop up, and a lot of the adjustments are rough.”

Bibi concluded: “My way of coping with them is through focusing on the things that I have accomplished and the things that are yet to come."

Rihanna is yet to comment on the accusations, with 'BBHMM'set to feature on her eighth studio LP.
