The Mirror has since obtained High Court papers, which state that RiRi was unhappy with the snap Topshop had used for their range.
The papers read: "The base image of the first claimant [Rihanna] is of such an unflattering nature that it would not be approved."
It goes onto claim that the pic - which showed RiRi wearing her hair in a bandana - was "poor" quality, adding that the "low-quality image and product that would not have been authorised by the first claimant".
Despite the new details, there was no confirmation that the 25-year old is seeking £3.5million.
Rihanna is rumoured to have spent around $1million on the case and is thought to be going ahead with proceedings out of principal instead of for financial reasons.
