Rihanna Thanks Her UK Navy As She Closes V Festival 2016 With An Incredible Headline Set
Things got emosh with Bad Gal RiRi...
After an epic string of European shows Rihanna finished up this part of her ANTI world tour at V Festival 2016, right here in the UK. All the other superstars of the world need to take note because RiRi showed everyone in Chelmsford last night exactly how to headline a festival.
We were completely blown away by her hit-filled set which gave festival-goers a taste of what fans have seen on her world tour. Opening with ‘Stay’ and closing with ‘Kiss It Better’ Rihanna performed hits from throughout her illustrious career as well as treating us to tracks from her latest album ANTI. Another highlight of the show came in the form of her cover of Tame Impala’s track ’New Person Same Old Mistakes’, we were truly feeling the vibes at that point.
However, what really won over the crowd was Rihanna’s happiness. There have been reports in the media of her crying at shows and not putting on her best performance but we feel the crowd at V Festival got RiRi at her very best. She was over the moon throughout the entire set as she danced in the rain and thanked her ‘UK Navy’, waxing lyrical about how much she loves the UK.
Not only did she seem genuinely happy, she was on form when she brought ALL the sass after gushing too much, saying: “I’m gonna stop all this soppy shit, I’m Bad Gal RiRi!” YES Rihanna! Yes you are, and we love you even more for it.
Going back to the start of day two of V Festival, Brooklyn babe Bebe Rexha opened up the main stage and we literally fell head-over-heels in love with her. You might not know her name just yet but you will have definitely heard her hits - either those that she’s written, or those she’s collaborated on with some of the biggest names in the industry. She performed everything from her David Guetta collaboration, ‘Hey Mama’, right through to her new single with Martin Garrix, ‘In The Name Of Love’.

Over on the MTV Stage UK grime legend Lethal Bizzle took to the stage for one of the most explosive sets of the entire weekend. His fans bought their A-game as they jumped along to tracks such as ‘Pow’ and ‘Rari Workout’.
Not only did he smash his own set, he decided to crash Little Mix’s main stage set as well! During an epic medley, the girls started dancing to ‘Fester Skank’ before Lethal B himself bounced out on stage to join them. Only at V Festival would such an amazing moment happen.
We had the BEST time at V Festival this year. See you all again next year, yeah?
