Rihanna's 'Love On The Brain' Inspired Marilyn Manson's New Album

Well, we definitely didn't expect to be writing this headline...

Rihanna has been music's tastemaker for the last decade, with her music ultimately deciding the nexttrendfor listeners and artists alike, and her influence extends to places even we never thought it would.

Marilyn Manson has revealed that the Bajan icon's mostrecent LP,'Anti',inspired his brand new album,'Heaven Upside Down'.

The eclectic album, noted for how it stretched the limits of R&B to incorporate many different genre tones, influenced Manson's new material "strongly", particularly fourth single'Love On The Brain'.

The soulful, doo-wop R&B of 'Love On The Brain' might not be a sound many would match with the rock legend, however heexplains its Rihanna's performance and authenticity that made the song so special to him.

“Strangely enough, one of the records that influenced this album strongly, and it can’t be taken literally [sonically], is Rihanna, her last record,” he told Consequence of Sound.

“That one song, ‘Love On The Brain’, it really hit me because I saw her perform it and she just… meant it."

That's why it became a double-platinum,Top 5 hit in the U.S. without a music video, and how a pop superstar can influence one of the biggest rockstars on the planet.
