RiRi's new tune got its first play on Capital FM earlier today, shortly after the 23-year old unveiled the artwork and lyrics on Twitter and Facebook.
Before its premiere, she tweeted: "I'm EXCITED, NERVOUS, ANXIOUS! I cud throw up", posting the single cover - where Rihanna has ditched her usual sexy attire in favour of a more tom-boy inspired look, as she struts along a street.
Soon after releasing the artwork, the 23-year old posted the full lyrics on her Facebook page, which sees the star sing: "Yellow diamonds in the light/ And we're standing side by side/ As your shadow crosses mine/ What it takes to come alive,"
We Found Love producer Calvin Harris also tweeted about the track, stating: "Excited for people to hear the new @rihanna song, i can tell u she sounds like an #angel!"
Following its premiere, Harris took to Twitter, writing: "Wowow many good comments about song with @Rihanna so happy u like it, i told u she sounded like an angel! THanks #RihannaNavy !! :D"
Since hitting the airwaves, We Found Love has received an overwhelming response online, with the likes of US celebrity blogger Perez Hilton praising the Barbadian beauty stating: "This Rihanna reign just won't let up!!! Slaying."
