Lily Allen Faces Backlash After Appearing To Call Out Rita Ora’s Tribute To Prince
Ever since the tragic news of Prince’s death broke last night (April 21), an incredible amount of celebrities have been paying tribute to the musical icon on social media.
Rita took to Twitter to share her love for Prince, writing: “This is coming from a place I never new existed in my heart.
“You were so special to me your presence the Music we created the dance-off's we used to have the laughing we shared.
"The funk oozing out of you was uncontrollable. I'm not quite sure what to do with myself but I will miss you forever and always. I love you my dear kind friend.”
Then, in a now deleted tweet, Lily replied to the post, telling her: “Pics or it never happened.”
The star was quick to come under fire from fans of Rita’s who felt as though Lily was throwing shade at the singer’s heartfelt tribute – but luckily she managed to clear things up pretty quickly.
She posted afterwards: “I didn’t mean that in a mean way, I’m just jealous you were so close to my idol. #superfan #ritabots go IN”.
Opting to stay out of the drama, Rita has kept quiet on social media since this all went down.
