John has taken to Twitter to straighten out all of the criticism they both received for their appearance in the parade, tweeting: “Fun fact. We all have to lip sync on this parade because the floats don't have the capacity to handle the sound requirements for a live performance.”

“Hope y'all enjoyed it anyway. Know that if you come to my shows, the vocals are 100% live!” He continued, in response to one fan asking why everyone was surprised as “they all do it.”

The ‘Girls’ vocalist then quoted Johns tweet thanking him for clarifying the whole situation, adding: “Fun fact @johnlegend thank you for clarifying what I was about to also tweet.”

“It's annoying for us but anyway! All my shows are 100 percent live always have been! When you come to a ORA show get ready! Back to holidays! Have a good one guys!” She said, confirming that she sings live most of the time.

A lot of fans were calling Rita out for her out-of-time lip-sync, but Macy’s took to Twitter themselves to apologise for the “technical difficulties” some artists experienced.

If you’ve ever binge-watched both of their live performances on YouTube, you know the pair can saaang. If the parade doesn’t allow it though, there’s not much Rita or John can do.
