Rita Ora’s new controversial single ‘Girls’, which features Cardi B, Charli XCX and Bebe Rexha, just got a brand new video, which stars all the girls featured in the song.

The girls do totally slay in this vid, which goes from luxurious golden outfits on persian carpets, whilst surrounded by all kinds of beautiful foliage - to a'Blade Runner'-esque appearance of Cardi B, who appears as a hologram!

The track itself was rather controversial from its release – it offended members of the LGBTQ+ community. Some have celebrated the song as a LGBTQ+ anthem, but more than that there has beenbacklash and rejection of the song for its "harmful" lyrics.

The chorus sings “Red wine, I just wanna kiss girls, girls, girls”, to which Hayley Kiyoko responded via Instagram “I don’t need to drink wine to kiss girls; I’ve loved women my entire life. This type of message is dangerous because it completely belittles and invalidates the very pure feelings of an entire community.”

Hayley Kiyoko and Kehlani continued to call the song “tone deaf” and in a statement on Twitter said “It's important for us artists to use our platforms to move the culture needle forwards, not backwards”.

Rita Ora has since apologised, stating that she “had romantic relationships with women and men throughout [her] life” and that she “would never intentionally cause harm to other LGBTQ+ people or anyone”.
