Rita Ora Tops UK Singles Chart

RIP debuts at No 1 while Keane go straight to the top of the album chart...

Rita Ora has topped the Official UK Singles Chart with her debut single R.I.P.

Though the singer has already enjoyed a UK No 1 thanks for her vocals on DJ Fresh's Hot Right Now, R.I.P. is her first solo record.

The track, which features British rapper Tinie Tempah, knocked last week's No 1, Young by Tulisa, into second place with former chart-topper Carly Rae Jepsen dropping to third spot with Call Me Maybe.

Alex Clare's Too Close continued to climb the chart to No 4 while We Are Young by fun. fell two places to No 5.

In the Official UK Album Chart, indie rockers Keane returned with a bang, as Strangeland went straight in at the top to give the British band their fifth consecutive No 1 album.

Emeli Sandé's Our Version Of Events climbed six places to No 2 after her performance on last weekend's The Voice, while another new entry, Richard Hawley's Standing At The Sky's Edge debuted at No 3.

Adele's 21, spending its 68th week in the chart, rose one place to fourth position and Lana Del Rey's Born To Die rounded out the top five.
