Does Ross Butler's Riverdale Exit Mean A 13 Reasons Why Season 2 Is On The Way?
Yep, Ross Butler is the cat that got the cream after landing the role of Zach Dempsey in the Selena Gomez produced series, as well as Reggie Mantle in the first season of Riverdale.
But after it was revealed by TVLine that Butler's role in the latter will be recast due to his availability, fans are getting their hopes up for a 13 Reasons season two.
"We love what Ross did with the role of Reggie, but because of his commitments to other projects, we couldn't use him nearly as much as we would have liked. [Next season], we want more Reggie in our show — he's Archie's rival! — and because Ross is unavailable to come back to Riverdale, we're looking for a new Reggie," Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said in a statement.
"Those are big shoes to fill, but we're confident we can find an actor who is as funny and sexy as Ross. And of course we all wish Ross the best."
There's already been endless speculation about a further look at 13RW, with both the author and the cast saying they'd be open to see what happens to the likes of Clay, Zach and Justin.
Even Selena Gomez hasn't said a firm no, so really our hopes are UP right now.
"We don't know what is going to go beyond it, but we know there are so many stories that lie beneath each character. That's why it became a series in the first place. So we'll see," she previously said of a possible new season.
Or maybe Butler's just landed a different role entirely, in which case we are well and truly barking up the wrong tree right now.
