As if the storylines of the past two seasons of Riverdale weren’t enough to leave you sleeping with the light on (hello mysterious serial killers hiding in the woods) then brace yourself for season three.

The cast stopped by the ever eventful Comic-Con over the weekend, where they debuted a brand new trailer for the next installment of everyone’s fave teen show and reminded us that things are far from over.

Most of the clip they’ve released is simply a season two throwback to remind us of everything that went down, but it’s the last few moments and Archie’s wish for a ‘normal Labor Day weekend’ that give everything away.

Sure, Betty, Veronica and Jughead all indulge Archie’s wish, you know, since he’s about to go on trial for murder, but things soon take a turn for the worst when some sort of cult initiation ceremony takes place outside Betty’s house.

Alice and Polly Cooper are seen holding the twins in the air over a roaring fire, as they are joined by some mysterious pals all wearing white.

So yeah, the creepy level has been escalated by approx ten thousand notches.

But this new sneak peek has got fans speculating like crazy, as they try and figure out what’s in store when the show returns in October.

We don’t mean to wish the summer away but also hurry up October.
