Riverdale’s dramatic season one finale may have hinted that a sinister Jughead could be on the way with 'that' Serpents jacket, but it looks like hewon't be the only one going through something.

In fact it’s his girlfriend Betty who will also be channeling her darker side, as Lili Reinhart recently explained in an interview with Elite Daily that her character will be going “full dark, no stars”.

"The mystery of season 2 revolves a lot around Betty," Lili explained, going on to add that it will be the struggle she has with herself that triggers it.

"We're touching on a lot of her internal darkness, and I want to show the dark side of this perfect girl,” she said.

"And just kind of dig into her real anxious personality and where that anxiety comes from and the pressures of being perfect, just get to the root of that and see it come to the surface more."

Of course we’ve already seen a glimpse of scary Betty when she donned the black wig, so who knows what else she’s capable of for season two…

Riverdale returns to Netflix on October 12.
